CEBU CITY, Philippines—The Adventist Church in Central Visayas has mobilized the working and the elite class in response to the union-wide ASI-PARL (AdPro) simultaneous evangelism initiative, launching 47 campaign sites across Cebu, Bohol, and Masbate.
The multi-site effort is part of a broader evangelism month facilitated by Adventist-laymen's Services and Industries, Public Affairs and Religious Liberty, and AdPro of the East Central Philippine Union Conference. While the union-wide event officially runs from June 28 to July 4, scheduling conflicts prompted some local fields to launch early, while others are slated for later this month.
Of the 47 scheduled sites across the CVC territory, 12 are strategically tailored for elite professionals and working-class audiences.
The conference has already yielded early baptismal results from three completed campaigns. In Bohol, a site in Danao reaped 10 souls, another campaign brought in 60 souls, and a series in Candait, Tagbilaran City, concluded with seven baptisms.
Forty CVC sites joined the simultaneous launch this week, with the remaining three campaigns scheduled to follow later in the month. Those upcoming series will be conducted by Pastor Julius Banal for the Cebu City District, Pastor Ronald Abao at Adventist Academy Cebu, and Pastor Jun Samson for the Naga District.
The CVC initiative also features two mega crusades for mixed audiences in Toledo City. One is by Jonathan Lamorin, an executive committee member of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, the church's global governing body. The second mega crusade is conducted by Pastor Bernardino Maniego, CVC president.
To monitor the progress of the multi-city deployment, an administration team from the East Central Philippine Union Conference recently conducted site visits. Christial Abenir, who serves as the ECPUC legal, human resources, and Planned Giving and Trust Services director and the union's PARL coordinator, led the team.
The team visited two prominent metro locations: the corporate-focused meeting at ARC Towers, conducted by Pastor Joel Aganan of Adventist Hospital-Cebu, and the Bellavista Hotel, conducted by ECPUC President Eliezer "Joer" Barlizo, Jr.
Both locations are for the working class and entrepreneurs, catering to over 30-40 non-denominational guests.
"We are happy that we are united—united for the cause of the Lord. Let's continue to pray for the success of this initiative," Barlizo remarked, expressing his gratitude for the support his evangelism received.
