The East Visayan Conference Ministerial Spouses Association held a spiritual retreat July 17–18, 2026, at the East Visayan Conference Compound. The event, themed "Rooted in Christ, Renewed for Service," gathered pastors' wives for two days of worship, fellowship, and training.

Maryvic Siega, EVC Ministerial Spouses Association director, and Melodie Mae K. Inapan, East Central Philippine Union Conference women and children's ministries director and MSA director, led the event with support from MSA officers.

Twenty pastors' wives from various districts attended the retreat. Organizers said the turnout reflected the participants' commitment to ongoing ministry and support for their families and churches.

The retreat was designed to strengthen participants' personal relationships with God through prayer, Bible study, worship, and reflection, while renewing their commitment to God's calling, their families, and church ministry. It also aimed to promote spiritual, emotional, and personal renewal amid the unique challenges of ministry, foster meaningful fellowship and mutual support among the spouses, and equip them with biblical principles and practical skills for effective leadership and service.

On the opening evening, Inapan presented a message titled "Five Truths to Remember About God's Calling." She discussed the uniqueness of each believer's calling, the differences between individual and spousal callings, and the importance of faithfulness. Inapan encouraged participants to pray about their purpose and to use their spiritual gifts in daily service.

On Sabbath, Inapan and Siega presented a series of lectures, including a session on the Biblical foundation of resilience. The presentation highlighted the experiences of Elijah, Hannah, and the Apostle Paul, focusing on faith, prayer, and dependence on God during times of difficulty.

The keynote message also drew inspiration from Hebrews 12:2:

"Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God."

The speaker said the verse was intended to encourage participants to remain steadfast and focused on Christ in their ministry.

At the close of the retreat, participants expressed appreciation for the event and said they planned to apply what they learned in their districts. Organizers reported that the pastors' wives committed to supporting their husbands in ministry and serving their local churches.

Organizers said the retreat fulfilled its theme, with participants leaving prepared to continue their work in their respective areas.
