CAMPUTHAW, Cebu City — Executive secretaries and administrative assistants from missions, conferences, and healthcare institutions across the territory gathered for the first East Central Philippine Union Conference (ECPUC) Secretariat Advisory and Records Management Enhancement Seminar on Aug. 5–6, 2026, at the ECPUC headquarters in Cebu City.
Held under the theme “Serving with Excellence, Advancing God’s mission,” the two-day event drew 25 attendees for updates, strategic planning, and professional development.
“The seminar aimed to review the current status of secretariats across various fields, share best practices, and lay down a strategic framework for future administration. Core sessions focused on secretariat development and enhancement of records management,” Pastor Jomar Compuesto, ECPUC executive secretary, said.
Guest speakers included Atty. Evin Villaruben, associate treasurer and legal director for the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD), who discussed working policy updates; and Pastor Kerry Estrebilla, SSD associate secretary, who spoke on secretariat development and its critical role in supporting organizational mission.
Participants reported immediate takeaways focused on upholding integrity and accuracy in church administration as they returned to their respective fields.
The secretariat department announced that similar capacity-building events are planned moving forward to maintain administrative standards across all participating institutions.
“I was so blessed with the lectures. I realized how great the possibilities of administrative and records management enhancement are through artificial intelligence,” said Belce Glicere Baquilabat, an ECPUC administrative secretary.“Refinement needs dedication, and so do possibilities and improvement.”
Pastor Eliezer “Joer” Barlizo Jr., first ECPUC president, expressed appreciation for all the hardwork and dedication of the secretariat department.
“We deeply appreciate the hard work and dedication of our secretariat team, who serve as the backbone of our daily operations,” Pastor Barlizo said. “Your commitment to excellence and accuracy ensures that our missions and institutions can advance God’s work smoothly and effectively.”
