Pastors, directors, institutional ministry leaders, and administrators from the missions, conferences, and participating hospital and academy across the East Central Philippine Union Conference (ECPUC) gathered at the Grand Zuri Hotel in Greater Jakarta on June 30, 2026, for a pivotal OneVoice27 Consultative Meeting.
The strategic gathering focused on how each one’s leadership can effectively prepare for and mobilize local congregations ahead of the upcoming global initiative.
Chaired by ECPUC President Pastor Eliezer “Joer” Barlizo Jr., the meeting served as an open forum for pastors, directors, and administrators to collaborate, brainstorm, and address logistical challenges. The primary agenda centered on participation in the upcoming Global Launch Day, addressing key questions about implementation strategies, timing, and how to effectively bridge leadership goals and local church action.
With time constraints a primary concern raised by participants, the floor was opened for each leader to voice their perspectives, share insights, and discuss practical frameworks for grassroots engagement.
Addressing the dedication of the leaders despite demanding schedules, Pastor Godofredo Romanillos Jr., ECPUC director for communication, Sabbath School, and Personal Ministries, expressed his admiration in Cebuano:
“Taliwala sa kakapoy ang atong mga pangulo nagatapok sa gihapon sa ilang mga hunahuna alang sa hapsay nga implementasyon sa OneVoice27 Launching Day.”
(Despite the weariness, our leaders still gather their minds together for the smooth implementation of the OneVoice27 Launching Day.)
Central to the discussion was the challenge of active member involvement. Pastor Barlizo emphasized the importance of transparency and engagement, noting:
“Everyone’s concern is how every church member can be convinced of his or her role in the OneVoice27 initiative and how they can understand their roles.”
To overcome this, leadership outlined plans to ensure the launch has a deep, massive impact. Pastor Barlizo added that the rollout will be bold, clear, and widespread to ensure every member feels a personal connection to the mission.
With the 2,000-year historical milestone of Christ’s ministry approaching in 2027, the ECPUC leadership reaffirmed their ultimate driving motivation: that Jesus is coming soon and His gospel must be proclaimed to the ends of the earth.
