TANGERANG, Indonesia — A 142-member delegation from the East Central Philippine Union Conference concluded a successful week of spiritual growth and leadership training alongside more than 3,200 Seventh-day Adventist leaders at the Southern Asia-Pacific Division’s first joint ministerial convention and stewardship summit.
The delegation—representing the Central Visayan Conference, East Visayan Conference, Negros Oriental-Siquijor Mission, Samar Mission, the union office, and affiliated institutions—joined representatives from 14 regional unions for the July 28–Aug. 2 gathering at the Basilea Convention Center in Serpong, Tangerang.
Pastor Eliezer “Joer” Barlizo Jr., first ECPUC president, led the delegation.
“May this gathering powerfully equip each of you to return to your respective fields more Christ-centered, more united, and more committed than ever as we build up His people together,” Barlizo told the delegation.
Nasaruddin Umar, Indonesia’s minister of religious affairs, sent a message welcoming the attendees and noting the role faith groups play in promoting social harmony and community service.
Speakers from the global church, the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventists, led sessions on pastoral priorities, stewardship, health ministry and member mobilization for global mission work. Presenters included Pastors Ramon Canals, Marcos Bomfim, Aniel Barbe and Dr. Zeno Charles-Marcel.
The event concluded Aug. 2 with a panel question-and-answer session featuring the event speakers and division leaders, moderated by Pastor Felixian Felicitas, field secretary for the division.
Regional leaders expressed appreciation to the host organization, the Central Indonesia Union Mission, led by Pastor Rudi Situmorang, for local logistics and operations during the week.
For every attendee, the host organization’s efficient coordination and dedicated service contributed significantly to the convention’s smooth and successful execution.
Speaking to the delegates, Pastor Barlizo said, “I pray that the convention has inspired each of us to unite and commit to the OneVoice27 initiative. May we all return to our respective fields spiritually revived, biblically grounded, mission-focused, and more fully equipped to build up God’s people.”
