CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Youth Ministries Department of the Capitol Center Seventh-day Adventist Church concluded its Voice of Youth Crusade, held June 20-26 in Sitio Upper Banica, Lahug, Cebu City.
Centered on the theme “Tinubdan sa Tinood nga Paglaum” (The Source of True Hope), the weeklong evangelistic outreach combined Christian service, health ministry, children’s programs and gospel proclamation.
The evangelistic effort began June 20 with the opening of the Vacation Bible School, a health and gospel seminar, and nightly evangelistic meetings. Throughout the week, children participated in Bible-based activities while adults attended health lectures and Bible messages presented by the church’s young people.
A major highlight of the outreach took place June 21, when a medical mission was conducted at the open basketball court, which also served as the venue for the nightly meetings. Residents received free community services, including medical and ophthalmic consultations, dental care, blood testing, massages and medicines. Leaders said the activity demonstrated Christ’s method of ministry by meeting physical needs while sharing messages of love and salvation.
Each evening, youth speakers delivered practical health lectures followed by Christ-centered gospel messages. Despite challenges, the nightly seminars attracted more than 50 residents.
As the series drew to a close June 26, four residents responded to the appeal, deciding to accept Jesus Christ. The baptismal ceremony took place at the Capitol Center Seventh-day Adventist Church.
For the leaders, the success of the Voice of Youth crusade was made possible through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
“I also praise God for the united efforts of the youth ministries department, church members, volunteer health professionals, Bible workers, and those who supported the mission through prayers, resources and personal involvement,” a church leader said. They completed the success of the event.
