JAVIER, Leyte — Workers and their family members from across the East Visayan Conference (EVC) gathered at East Visayan Adventist Academy (EVAA) from June 12-14 for the EVC Workers Family Fellowship and Intensified Stewardship Education in regular and systematic giving, reaffirming their commitment to faithful stewardship and God’s mission under the theme, “Cheerful Giving: A Lifestyle.”
The event brought together pastors, teachers, evangelists, and conference employees from Biliran, Leyte and Southern Leyte for a weekend of spiritual enrichment, stewardship education and fellowship.
During the opening vesper service, Pastor Mariano Salloman, retired East Central Philippine Union Conference (ECPUC) stewardship director, emphasized that genuine spiritual revival is demonstrated through faithful management of the resources God entrusts to His people.
He reminded participants that stewardship extends beyond finances to include time, talents, possessions and personal influence.“The only therapy for selfishness that we have today is learning to be faithful in returning tithes and offerings to the Lord,” Salloman said.
Stewardship messages continued throughout the Sabbath with presentations from Pastors Salloman and Renito Inapan, ECPUC treasurer. Speakers highlighted the importance of generosity, loyalty and systematic giving as expressions of faith and trust in God.
“The happiest Christians are the most generous Christians, for generosity reflects the character of Christ,” Inapan said.
Following the divine worship service, workers and their families participated in a pledge-signing ceremony, renewing their commitment to faithful stewardship, responsible use of entrusted resources and wholehearted service in ministry.
Pastor Jonathan Muralla, EVC stewardship director, and Pastor Samuel Salloman, EVC president, conducted the ceremony. Participants then signed a commitment pledge affirming their dedication to faithful tithing and offering practices and continued partnership in advancing the church’s mission.
Speakers emphasized that church workers are not merely employees but partners in God’s work, called to serve as faithful stewards in every area of ministry.
The gathering also featured sports fellowship activities, including volleyball, basketball, pickleball and lawn tennis. Workers and their families were divided into four teams, fostering camaraderie, unity and healthy recreation throughout the weekend.
The event concluded Sunday with participants encouraged to make cheerful giving a daily lifestyle and to continue serving faithfully as stewards and partners in God’s mission.
