An elder-led evangelism initiative in the Ormoc-Albuera District from March to May resulted in 49 baptisms.
The continuous initiative was launched by local church elders as part of their commitment to Mission Reach 2026, a broader mission goal by the East Central Philippine Union Conference.
Pastor Paulino N. Acuin Jr., who provides pastoral leadership for the district, oversees consecutive campaigns across several sites. Participating locations included the Adventist churches in Cambantog, Tinag-an, San Pablo, Ipil-Osco, Tabgas, Linao, and Cabintan.
“The strategic planning session at the Elders’ Council a few months ago had inspired the elders to commit; thus, this cooperation we are witnessing now,” Pastor Acuin said.
Church leaders expressed joy at this turnout, with some reporting that evangelistic efforts in their areas are still ongoing in this last week of May.
“Let us continue praying as five more churches are still set to conduct their cottage meetings this month,” one church leader said. “May more hearts be reached and more lives be transformed for God’s kingdom.”
Leaders expressed gratitude for the cooperation and unity that enabled this series of elder-led crusades.
One elder shared, “As an elder of the church, I feel honored and blessed to be given the opportunity to speak in a crusade. It is both a privilege and a great responsibility to share the Word of God and lead people closer to Jesus. I also feel humbled because without God’s guidance and wisdom, I cannot do this work alone. Seeing souls listen, learn, and surrender their lives to Christ brings joy and fulfillment to my heart.”
