News September 1, 2026

The Negros Oriental-Siquijor Mission Communication Department conducted a three-day Digital Strategy for Mission and Adventist Communication Training from Aug 28-30-2026, at the NSM headquarters along Seventh-day Adventist Avenue in Tubtubon, Sibulan.

With the theme “Communication for Mission,” the training aimed to equip communicators with digital media skills to advance mission work, especially through the launch of the OneVoice27: Mission for All initiative, culminating in Sept. 2027.

Participants included district media coordinators and those interested in communication skills, since the three-day training covered digital media, scriptwriting, newscasting, video and photo editing, and other communication skills essential to mission work.

The event featured communication leaders from various Adventist institutions as speakers for plenary and breakout sessions.

Pastor Carlito P. Quidet, DPA, DMin, communication director for the Southern Asia-Pacific Division, discussed bridge builders and the important roles of communicators in the last days of the earth’s history.

Pastor Godofredo S. Romanillos Jr., communication director of the East Central Philippine Union Conference (ECPUC), discussed strategic content management as preparation for the launch of the OneVoice27 initiative, culminating in Sept. 2027.

Pastor Johnster Joe Calibod, president of Hope Channel Philippines. shared his journey in livestreaming management, giving emphasis on its objective to introduce viewers to Jesus,

On the other hand, Pastor Jenboy Luston, station manager of Hope Channel Central Philippines, discussed page management that wouldn’t just aim for large viewership or high engagement, but for bridging the viewers to the local church.

Other speakers included Advent Joy M. Cabulay, head scriptwriter of Hope Channel Central Philippines, who tackled scriptwriting. She discussed the methods she used to create scripts for HCCP programs—personal strategies she described as “solely inspired by the Lord.”

Meanwhile, Marilyn S. Lucero, news writer and Mizpah associate editor for the ECPUC, discussed news writing. She aimed to recognize more individuals across the NSM with writing gifts and encourage them to use their skills for the Lord.

“Communication for mission is a vital role in the last days of Earth’s history as we prepare people for heaven,” Quidet said.

For Sarddie C. Amantillo, District 6 media head, the training underscored the importance of using media as a tool for evangelism.

“Media ministry gives me a place to stand on Facebook, and I will move the Earth for salvation,” Amantillo said.

For the organizers, the training is part of the mission’s ongoing effort to strengthen its communication ministry and maximize digital platforms to share the gospel and reach people for Christ.

“Through communication,” communicators repeatedly said, “technology becomes more than just a tool—it becomes a means of reaching people with a message of hope and preparing them for Christ’s return.
