To raise funds for an upcoming evangelism initiative for elites and professionals, the Adventist-Laymen’s Services and Industries, in collaboration with Adventist Professionals of the Central Cebu District, held a lunch-for-a-cause at the Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort on Mactan Island, Lapu-Lapu, Cebu.
The event raised 39,000 pesos to help fund an evangelistic meeting from June 28 to July 5 at the Paradise Garden Events Pavilion, located on H. Abellana Street, Jagobiao, Mandaue City. The venue is often referred to as “Green Paradise” for its lush aesthetics.
This meeting is part of the ASI-AdPro Evangelism Month, during which all ASI-AdPro chapters across the East Central Philippines will hold simultaneous crusades in more than 200 sites.
The June 14 event, themed “Together in Service, Fellowship, and Mission,” drew 48 benefactors. It opened with a mid-morning devotional featuring a message from Randy Hijapon Jr., a layworker at the Canduman Seventh-day Adventist Church. Hijapon’s message, centered on John 6:9, emphasized that even small offerings can make a significant impact when dedicated to God.
The upcoming ASI-AdPro crusade at Green Paradise, themed “The Triumph and Truth: An Exposition of Bible Prophecies,” will feature Pastor Edwin Gulfan as the guest speaker. Gulfan is the retired president of the former South Philippine Union Conference and former field secretary of evangelism for the Southern Asia-Pacific Division.
For the 48 benefactors, the gathering combined worship, fellowship and fundraising. ASI-AdPro CCDAC officers said the turnout reflects the group’s commitment to service and mission.
Pastor Eliezer “Joer” Barlizo Jr., the first ECPUC president, expressed joy over the initiative. “What you did only showed how much you want to do for Him. Thank you for your enthusiasm and commitment to heed his great commission call.”
