Melodie Mae K. Inapan, children and women’s ministries director of the Adventist Church in the East Central Philippines, released a children’s song titled “Hope Starts With Me” as part of the organization’s OneVoice27: Mission for All initiative.
Inapan wrote the lyrics for the project, which features music composed by her son, Derek Joseph Inapan, and video creation by Rodulfo “Joel” Ceniza Jr.
OneVoice27: Mission for All is a major global evangelism campaign launched by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It is designed to mobilize every church member to share the gospel, particularly through digital platforms and everyday technology.
Inapan said integrating the song into the broader OneVoice27 initiative aims to show children they have an active role in the church’s mission and community outreach efforts.
After the song’s release on Inapan’s social media account, online viewers thanked her for creating content tailored to children. The project received a warm reception, particularly from parents and women’s ministry leaders.
In that social media content, she stressed that through their songs and simple acts of kindness, children can help others feel God’s love and remember that “Jesus makes all things new.”
“As parents, guardians, and teachers, we want our children to know that they can share Jesus’ love through a smile, a kind word, a helping hand, or being a good friend,” Inapan said. “Let’s teach them to be kind to everyone, and to make sure no one feels left out.”
Inapan summarized the initiative’s goal with the new song’s core message: “Hope starts with me, hope starts with you, and together, we can make His love known to all.”
Pastor Eliezer “Joer”Barlizo Jr., ECPUC president, expresses appreciation and gratitude to Inapan. He said he appreciates her vision, hard work, and dedication to bringing ‘Hope Starts With Me’ to children’s lives.
“This song is a beautiful gift to our church, and you have provided our young ones with a powerful way to share God’s love,” he said. “They are indeed never too young to be a missionary for Christ.”
