JOHOR BAHRU, Malaysia — Delegates from the East Central Philippine Union Conference (ECPUC) returned home from the Adventist-laymen’s Services and Industries Asia-Pacific Convention 2026, recognized as the top union in marketplace evangelism.
The four-day convention concluded at the Berjaya Waterfront Hotel, drawing lay leaders and Adventist professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region for specialized plenaries, discussions, workshops, and business sessions aimed at integrating faith with professional life in the marketplace.
A primary highlight for the ECPUC representatives was its recognition for leading evangelism among all participating unions.
According to convention data, the ECPUC reported 2,649 baptisms through its 2026 crusades, outpacing the South Luzon Philippine Union Mission (SLPUM) with 1,013 and the South-East Philippine Union Mission (SEPUM) with 882.
Pastor Eliezer Barizo Jr., ECPUC president, said the achievement reflects members’ dedication, not just numerical data.
“This milestone is not merely about statistics or numbers on a chart; it is a profound reflection of our members’ commitment and dedication to the ministry,” Barizo said. “When professionals and church workers unite in purpose, everyday vocations become powerful means for advancing the gospel and transforming lives.”
Delegates said the convention program concluded with spiritual insights they look forward to. They then began discussing a similar event for the coming year.
“Most of all, all of them have committed to dedicate more time and resources to elite evangelism,” a leader said.
