The East Visayan Conference recorded the highest number of evangelistic sites within its union during a weeklong simultaneous campaign that concluded Saturday.
The initiative, organized by the Adventist-laymen’s Services and Industries along with the Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (Adventist Professionals) department, officially ran from June 28 through July 4.
According to data from a conference report, the simultaneous crusades yielded 88 active sites during the specific week, contributing to a total of 150 campaign sites across the region when combined with advanced and upcoming efforts. The broader evangelism drive has resulted in 910 baptisms.
Pastor Emmanuel Paul Barcenas, youth director of the East Visayan Conference and ASI-Ad Pro coordinator, attributed the campaign’s reach to God and the direct involvement of church members.
“This achievement was made possible because we empowered our ASI-Ad Pro members not only to provide financial support but, more importantly, to personally engage in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in the marketplace, workplaces, and communities,” Barcenas said.
He emphasized that the wholehearted commitment to personal evangelism has demonstrated that every member can be an effective missionary wherever God has placed them.
The conference-wide breakdown highlights significant localized turnouts during the campaign period. The Isabel-Merida district hosted the most simultaneous crusades, with 33 sites, resulting in 151 baptisms.
The San Miguel district followed with 12 simultaneous sites and recorded the highest individual baptism count at 175.
Meanwhile, the Carigara district recorded 100 baptisms throughout its campaign schedule.
Barcenas expressed gratitude to the organizational leadership across the Southern Asia-Pacific Division, the East Central Philippines Union Conference, and the local East Visayan Conference, as well as to district pastors and lay volunteers who managed operations.
While July 4 marked the formal conclusion of the designated evangelism week, several districts are scheduled to continue running campaigns into the upcoming week.
Pastor Eliezer “Joer” Barlizo Jr., the first ECPUC president, expressed appreciation to Barcenas as “tireless and committed” in expanding the work to the workplace and marketplace.
He also thanked Norman Sabdao, mayor of San Miguel, Leyte, and ECPUC ASI president, for his unparalleled dedication in bringing the message not just to every family in San Miguel, but to the entire Leyte.
