CEBU CITY, Philippines — A weeklong evangelistic seminar organized by the Capitol Center Seventh-day Adventist Church ASI and Ad Pro organizations concluded Saturday with nine baptisms, following a series of nightly meetings focused on family life and community service.
The event, which ran from June 28 to July 4 at the Griffin Hotel and Suites, was part of a territory-wide initiative across the Central Visayan Conference.
Pastor Rudy Baloyo, a pastor with a doctorate degree in ministry, delivered the nightly lecture series titled “Building Strong Families,” which focused on biblical principles for family life.
For the nightly listeners, the messages he delivered drew on his extensive ministry and expertise in family life, offering practical biblical principles that touched the hearts of many.
Leaders and facilitators said the meetings drew more than 35 non-Adventist professionals and guests each evening.
In addition to the nightly lectures, the program offered free medical and legal consultations to attendees, alongside nightly raffle draws.
Leaders reported that more than 10 people responded to a public altar call on Friday, expressing their intention to accept the Christian faith.
The seminar concluded Saturday with a baptismal ceremony at the Capitol Center Seventh-day Adventist Church. Seven individuals from the host church were baptized, alongside two additional candidates from the Filipino-Chinese Seventh-day Adventist Church.
“The Holy Spirit indeed continually works on human hearts,” one church member said during the baptism ceremony. “The candidates’ decision to accept Jesus is the moving reminder that He is always in our midst.”
Church leaders acknowledged that, despite logistical uncertainties before the seminar began, the event successfully met its spiritual and outreach objectives.
