MANDAUE CITY, Cebu, Philippines — Fifteen people were baptized as the Central Cebu District concluded its participation in the ASI-PARL (Ad Pro) simultaneous evangelistic initiatives across the East Central Philippine Union Conference.

ASI-PARL (Ad Pro) stands for Adventist-laymen’s Services and Industries – Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (Adventist Professionals).

Held from June 28 to July 4, this week-long evangelistic campaign took place at the Paradise Garden Pavilion in Jagobiao, Mandaue City.

The series, themed “The Triumph of Truth,” featured Pastor Edwin Gulfan, an international evangelist, who presented nightly messages on the gospel, Bible prophecy and preparation for Christ’s return.

Pastor Gulfan is a retired president of the former South Philippine Union Conference (before it was divided into two unions) and a former field secretary of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division for evangelism.

Attendees included business owners, professionals, employees and families. Many participants attended nightly meetings despite demanding work schedules.

Among them was Lapurisima Remedio, a businesswoman from Canduman, who attended an Adventist evangelistic meeting for the first time.

“This is my first time attending this kind of event, and it has truly been a meaningful experience. The messages helped me understand the Bible more clearly and inspired me to draw closer to God,” she shared.

According to Rofel Hijapon, ASI president of the Central Cebu District, the evangelistic series also served as a spiritual renewal for longtime church members.

“As a born Adventist, I see this evangelistic series as an important review of Bible prophecy. Many of us were baptized without fully understanding every prophetic message. Through this series, we have been reminded of these biblical truths, our faith has been strengthened, and our commitment to Christ has been renewed,” Hijapon said.

This evangelistic campaign was organized by Central Cebu District churches, the district pastor, (ASI-PandAd Pro) members, church officers, and volunteers.

The seven-night evangelistic series concluded with the baptism of 15 people at the baptistry of Canduman Seventh-day Adventist Church. Officiating the baptism were Pastor Jemwin Colegado, CCDAC district pastor.

Church leaders said they will continue to support  and nurture the newly baptized members and share their message throughout the district.

Notably, the ASI-PARL (AdPro) simultaneous evangelistic crusade is part of the Adventist East Central Philippines’ continuing mission to mobilize lay members and church leaders to proclaim the everlasting gospel and prepare communities for Christ’s soon return.
