SAN FRANCISCO, Camotes—A week-long evangelistic campaign focused on family enrichment concluded Saturday in Brgy. Campo, San Francisco, Camotes, resulting in the baptism of 21 people.
The initiative, themed “Moral Recovery for a Happy Family,” ran from May 17 to 23 and drew an average nightly attendance of 150 residents.
Pastor Godofredo Romanillos Jr., communication, Sabbath School, and Personal Ministries director for the East Central Philippine Union Conference, served as the primary speaker. Joining him as guest speakers were his wife, Mae Den, and Pastor Donato Barcenas, Sabbath School and Personal Ministries director for the Central Visayan Conference.
The nightly lectures addressed practical household topics, including “What Makes A Strong Family,” “Who is the Boss in the Family,” “How to Handle Conflicts in the Home,” “Home Money Management,” and “The Ultimate Solution to the Family’s Problem.”
These topics, as the speaker emphasized, utilized a holistic approach to family ministry, tackling the raw, everyday challenges facing modern households—from financial stewardship to conflict resolution—before pointing attendees to a spiritual foundation.”
While these topics focused on how to build a happy family and establish a harmonious relationship at home, speakers also included mental health presentations.
On the other hand, to ensure the campaign was accessible to entire households, local youth and women leaders conducted simultaneous children’s classes, engaging the younger demographics with age-appropriate values before the parents attended the main lectures.
Pastor Greg Aurestila, the district pastor, led the groundwork and preparatory efforts for the event, coordinating a local team of laymen, church elders, and care group members.
The event culminated in a baptismal ceremony for the 21 candidates, officiated by both Pastors Aurestila and Romanillos.
