Adventist Hospital-Cebu Launches Month-Long Anniversary Celebration with Community Outreach

News April 5, 2026

CEBU CITY — Adventist Hospital-Cebu officially commenced its month-long anniversary celebration today, April 5,  with a community outreach program at Adventist Academy-Cebu, serving more than 200 people.

The initiative, conducted by hospital department heads and staff, treated a crowd at Adventist Academy Cebu with fresh soya milk and wheat bread, many of whom were attending the Southern Cebu Federation of Churches.

The food items are produced by Miller Health Foods, the hospital’s manufacturing arm and partner in promoting plant-based nutrition.

The hospital was founded in 1956 by Dr. Harry Willis Miller as the H.W. Miller Sanitarium and Hospital. From then on, the institution has remained committed to its mission of “touching lives through the healing ministry of Christ,” focusing on a holistic approach to wellness.

“We don’t rely on our own abilities or educational accolades, but on the healing power of Christ,” a physician said. “We are simply His instruments of healing.”

As part of the festivities, the hospital will hold a blessing for the Miller Food Station. This project, attached to an outer wing of the hospital building, is designed to provide the public with affordable, healthy food options. It has also currently offered extended services beyond the main canteen’s operating hours.

During the launch and blessing, a thanksgiving program will be held to recognize the 2025 ASI officers of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division as donors to the project.

Furthermore, the anniversary schedule features a series of community service events throughout April. After the initial outreach, the hospital will host special morning devotionals at the Cebu City Seventh-day Adventist Church on April 6, followed by a medical and optical mission on April 7, a dental mission on April 8, and a community circumcision program, known as Operation Tuli, on April 9.

The celebration concludes with social events, including an anniversary night for staff and partners on April 16, and family beach outings on April 21 and 23.

“AH-C has faced countless challenges, but praise God for His continual guidance, provisions, and blessings. It is now on its 70th,” an AH-C leader said.

Upon hearing of AH-C’s 70th anniversary, a former nurse employee expressed gratitude. “My family and I love AH-C. We can feel God’s presence in the place through the kindness of the people and the music that they played. Happy 70th anniversary, AH-C!”

Happy 70th founding Anniversary to our dear AH-C! God be praised for His leadings to our past and present visionary leaders. May He continue to manifest His miracles and manifold blessings to this health care facility as we re-commit and re-dedicate our lives of unselfish service to the people by extending the healing ministry of Christ.
