Adventist Elementary School- Bacolod held its Adventurer Day Camp on Nov. 20-22, 2024, at Negros Occidental Conference Evangelism Center, Taculing, Bacolod City.

This event brought together more than a hundred adventurers eager to participate, grow, and explore new learning heights. It also included teachers who played essential roles in cultivating these kids to become the next generation of leaders.

The Adventurer Club is for children ages 6-9, with an additional section for children ages 4 and 5. It follows a program created for leaders and parents to help their children learn about Jesus and develop their faith by learning songs, community engagement, and outdoor adventures to discover their talents and skills.

A program of the Adventist Church, the Adventurer Club emerged from a long history of the church's commitment to nurturing the faith and development of young people. It formalized a program for younger children, providing them with opportunities to learn about Jesus, develop life skills, and build friendships in a supportive environment.

The camp opened with a warmly inspirational message by Master Guide Jerelyn Orquesta, NOC Education director. The day continued with various activities such as morning exercises and team building activities to build camaraderie among campers.

To gain their Adventurer honors, these kids did their duties to have their honors in Trees, Photo Fun, Friend of Jesus, First Aid Helper, Fitness Fun, Flowers, Sharing, Flower, Healthy Food, Stamping Fun, and Healthy Me tasks.

Master Guide Desiree Romero, school principal, said, "This is an amazing activity for the adventurers. The kids can explore and really exercise the true spirit of Adventurers. This activity would also help and guide them as they grow through learning skills and earning awards.

She further said the activities would make them stronger and braver. Their faith in Jesus would grow, and they would never forget that Jesus cares about them.

Master Guide Punay Bermeo, one of the facilitating master guides, said, "It's nice to have this Adventurer Camp because it is where the children are trained and will learn some activities to help them complete their award requirements while enjoying doing these things."

"These activities are going to enrich their experiences from day to day.   I hope the teachers and Master Guides will continue to train these children so they become good leaders someday and a blessing to their families," she added.

The camp culminated with a devotional and awarding ceremony, leaving in the young minds of the children the joyful experience they had while learning more about Jesus.
